Anyone else experiencing this problem?

OK, I've got a hard drive install. This is the second time I've installed RC1 on my main computer. Maybe this has been fixed in RC2, but I don't know, as I haven't tried it.

After installing a ton of software from the repository, after I reboot, xlogin will come up, I put in the username and password, then it will briefly display a message about the login command failing, but it's so quick you can't really read the whole thing, then it takes me back to xlogin.

It's a little frustrating, and I wonder if anyone else has had this problem. Any fixes?

For now, I've got it set up where I automatically log in as root and go into text mode.

your thread title is not very helpful
mentioning a release candidate (RC1 and RC2) is useless without mentioning the programm concerned and the version number, as nearly every version will have an RC of some sorts!

i assume it is xorg you are talking about, but i have no idea, anyhow, would be nice to have it written in the title
i.e: xorg x.xx RC1 login failure

perhaps you can specify the unclear data :-)

RC1 of Grafpup 2. Sorry, I assumed people would know which one, since it's Grafpup 2 that's about to be released.
