Thanks for your reply. I tried hp-setup and was not successful.
I did manage to get my printer going again. Here is what I did:
- Re-emerged: cups, ghostscript, hplip
- Tried the cups web client to get a better picture of the problem
- Used webmin to remove the flawed printer and created a new one
Webmin seems to be a bit more complete in handling these types of errors, even more that the cups web client.
Very frustrating problem that a lot of ideas don't seem to help with. I don't know the cause exactly. I suspect it may have been the result of another emerge or unemerge.
