Tetra Grammaton Gentoo Master

I dl'd the stage3 and setup the system. Now the next point is to make stage4 etc. My question is when does a stage3 become a stage4, stage5. I made the kernel and user setups but I'm just guessing stage4 is with the kernel and stage5 is with the software packages. then is stage6 with software and config settings?

I have been running Gentoo for 9 years now and I have hard time understanding this. Generally you do a fresh install using stage-3. You can also generate stage-3 install using an existing install. Now, stage-4 is different, it is more like a backup. Never heard of stage-5 or 6.

You don't have to worry about those. I've never.

A stage-3 install is the only supported installation method.

A stage-4, in my understanding, is just a backup or a whole install, in case something happens and you have to restore it. In any case, those are terms invented by someone in the forums time ago, and not really something that you need to progress towards or something. You just install using a stage-3 and you get a Gentoo system, that's all.
