Spekkup After Genkernel Compilation
Hey folks. After getting Gentoo partially installed on a virtual machine in class, I've come to a slight problem. I'm ready to reboot, but before I did that, I thought I'd add in Espeakup before I did. The emerge went fine, but espeakup warned me that speakup.synth=soft wasn't in my kernel. Now this would be a problem, since I'd have no talking system on reboot. I've tried emerging speakup, but Portage didn't like it, because the version in Portage was old.
Here's the Configuration:
Kernel: genkernel compiled
Bootloader: grub2
Disc used: Gentoo minimal
This disc does use speakup.synth=soft, and it was said in the handbook that whatever was in the disc boot options, I'd get with genkernel. How do I resolve this conflict?
Also noteworthy: I've tried a make menuconfig, but the issue with that is that speakup won't say if anything is selected or not, which is a bit dangerous when it comes to kernel compilation.
