Question Just emerged Apache2 - can not see web page (gentoo)

I just emerged apache2 and did a: /etc/init.d/apache2 start

I can not see the default web page "It works!"

I do get a few messages at startup:

icc_project_ia32 init.d # /etc/init.d/apache2 start
* Caching service dependencies ...
* Starting apache2 ...
apache2: apr_sockadr_info_get() failed for icc_project_ia32
apache2: Coud not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.0.1 for Servername

Any ideas on what I need to do?

The last message is ok - I'm getting it but my apache works fine.
About the second last message I'm not sure. What do you have in your "/etc/hosts"? In my case I have:
Code:
# IPv4 and IPv6 localhost aliases
127.0.0.1       localhost
::1             localhost
127.0.0.1       notebook_hp

Apache tries to determine what should it tell about your server name on, say, error pages. It failed (it knows that localhost is not a meaningful server name), and as it is listening only on 127.0.0.1 it uses that IP instead of nice.domain.name on 404 page etc.

The server has a hostname... what do I need to add to get it recognized?

Make sure Apache is started when IP is already assigned to the interface and set your hostname to the name of the server. Or you can specify ServerName in httpd.conf . http://httpd.apache.org/docs has more information on that..
