Failed to execute login command

Hi guys after i have installed gentoo on my virtual box i followed these links to install fluxbox:

http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/fluxbox-config.xml
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/xorg-config.xml

Im using root user and at the graphical login im given failed to "execute login command", i also check this forum using a different user but still failed.

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ommand-736159/

but if im in runlevel 3 and execute startx im directed to the fluxbox desktop

Maybe root user is banned from logging in via X?

Can you log in via graphical login as non-root user with some other WM?

Where did you specify fluxbox?

If it is really your login manager which is showing you that error, the problem is either with it or with the fluxbox session file, which should reside under /etc/X11/Sessions/. I can't really be any more concrete without knowing more details about how your initialization process goes.

I also tried using other none root account but same problem.

I didn't do anything much other than follow the instructions in the gentoo X and fluxbox wiki.

Does it work with any other WM?

In order for your desktop to work, you need to create the .xinitrc file in your home folder and add the command to start the desktop environment.

For example, I use XFCE and I have the file in "/home/user/.xinitrc" and it's a single file that says "exec startxfce4".
