dispatch-conf aborts

I have just freshly installed gentoo, and get an error when I run dispatch-conf. I get
Code:
# dispatch-conf
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/sbin/dispatch-conf", line 493, in <module>
    portage.settings.get('CONFIG_PROTECT', '')))
  File "/usr/sbin/dispatch-conf", line 266, in grind
    clear_screen()
  File "/usr/sbin/dispatch-conf", line 447, in clear_screen
    sys.stdout.write(_unicode_decode(curses.tigetstr("clear")))
TypeError: must be str, not None
CONFIG_PROTECT and CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK are not changed from what was installed.
Code:
CONFIG_PROTECT='/usr/share/gnupg/qualified.txt /usr/share/config /usr/share/polkit-1/actions'
CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK='/etc/gentoo-release /etc/sandbox.d /etc/fonts/fonts.conf /etc/terminfo /etc/ca-certificates.conf'

I don't use dispatch.conf (always found etc-update enough to be enough, for the kind of task it does).

But for the little python I know, it could be either a but in dispatch-conf, a wrong version of python trying to run code thought for some other version, or an unexpected syntax in make.conf or any other input file (unmatched quotation marks and the like).

Not much, but since no one else answered...

Thanks. I'll continue using cfg-update.
