Changed resolution with xrandr and now monitor wont work

Hello everyone I am having a strange problem I just installed gnome 3 it only gave me the resolution option for my second monitor of 1024x768 which is way lower than usual so I tried setting it using xrandr which worked fine until I rebooted now the second monitor don't work I tried plugging in my extra monitor it wont work either.I have two Radeon Hd 4670 but I cant use the second one because gnome 3 refuses to work with the fglrx drivers, I have been trying to get both cards and all four monitors working with gnome 3 for a week now I finally gave up on that but I have to have at least two of my four monitors. The one that stopped working is on the same card as my primary monitor as gnome will not work with both cards, But did show both monitors on my primary card until I tried to change the resolution.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Does fglrx support xrandr at all? I am not sure, it's been long since I used that driver for something.

Did you try the open source radeon driver?

It does, yes.

aortell, we'd really need to see your /var/log/Xorg.0.log file to figure out what's going on.

The radeon driver is having a hard time reading the EDID of one of your monitors:

Code:
[ 36.361] (EE) RADEON(0): Unknown EDID version 255
You could try forcing it on and forcing a resolution by explicitly defining a Monitor section via xorg.conf and using the PreferredMode option.
