ZoneAlarm blocks Firefox but not Outlook Express (dialup)

Hi there..

For my XP installation, I have dialup, and I have ZoneAlarm installed. It currently doesn't allow Firefox or Internet Explorer to access the internet, but it allows Outlook Express to access the internet. I have tried reconfiguring it and everything, I have given them access to the internet and all that, but it still doesn't work. Firefox works when I disable ZoneAlarm. I have also noticed a really high number of blocked intrusion - 10,000+ in a few weeks...

Ideas, people?

You probably told ZA to Deny access to Firefox with the "Remember this setting" checkbox set. In ZA, go to the "Program Control" link on the left hand side, which will list all the programs that have requested Internet access, along with the indicator as to whether or not you want to give them that access. Right click on the Firefox entry, and either set the permissions to allow access to the Internet, or delete the listing (which will cause ZA to ask you again how to handle Firefox). That ought to do it -- J.W.

I allowed it and everything. Checked it 50 times. Tried resetting all permissions to ask. Then allowing it. Nope. Nothing

This fixed it:

on the left, firewall -- >

internet zone: high
trusted zone: med
button below - advanced
I had to tick the boxes "allow outgoing DNS/DHCP" in trusted and internet zones.

and yay! internet!
