Your fav. open initiative...

I have some favourite open (or related to open) projects. I want to know if there are some good ones I do not know about.

Here is my favourite list (in order of importance)

What's your list?

Apols. in advance if shifting topic slightly - to focus more squarely on an initiative - my plug would go to the new Desktop Linux Working Group initiative based at the Open Source Development Labs:

Expect the formulation of some useful "standards" re the Enterprise Desktop - further - hope the Consumer Desktop will eventually be able to benefit from some of the ideas that coalesce........
