This Yahoo article claims that Linus Torvlads is NOT the father of Linux!!!!

That's one of the most un-substantial articles I have read in a long time. It really says....nothing.

It's not even a Yahoo article - it's from www.adti.net (the Alexis de Tocqueville Institute, an MS funded centre) and is FUD.

Groklaw reported on it and there is, I believe, already a thread about this.

oh man....that's stupid " Linus is not linux inventor because linux's based on unix..."
We say *NIX systems, linux on it! Man, linus started to play with minix before he came up with linux, but he created, he programmed the first kernel. Just because he based himself on POSIX standard to create a unix compatible system that does not mean he saw the unix code and changed it. He made it by himself, doesn't matter if it is a unix, a windows, mac os compatible or not compatible with anything....that's stupid. They're changing the focus on the discussion only trying to create some noise...stupid

It makes more sense to say Gates isn't the father of Windows... Because it was based on DOS (which he bought).
