XaraXtreme vs Cairo: Improve Linux Speed

Hey, I have a suggestion that could benifit Linux GUI and the Linux experiance: Use the newly GPL'd Xara Xtreme to our benifit. Cairo is a lot slower than Xara in terms of rendering, and Xara has been around for over a decade, so they know something about what they are doing.

Now, I don't know everything there is to know about Cairo or Xara, but here is a good suggestion if it is possible:

Read the full suggestion/blog here: XaraXtreme vs Cairo

If you think that this is a good idea, please link to my blog as needed and spread the suggestion.

iv had some experience with XaraX on a windows platform and was speachless and still am about it.

Xara are a company in london and have for many years been well renowned for what they do.

they produce top of the range programs that i would lay down the cash for without two thoughts!

And imagine that kind of power in Linux GUI. We would be undefeatably the best. Open Source Xara even outperforms Mac, and quarts, the kings of the GUI and nice graphics and icons. We could render things like 2ce as fast if this were possible to do. I hope that this eventually travels to the Cairo developers' ears and eyes.

Yeah, I know that GUI is evil, buf if you're going to do it, at least do it better than everyone else. I all ready like the refresh rate on Linux more: you rarely see things rendering slowly, unlike on Windows where it's always slower. But according to the graphs from Xara, we're rendering slower than everyone, even in this much acclaimed Cairo. I realize that Cairo has strengths, but it's hard to find what they are, aside from the fact that everyone seems to be jumping on it, that it's vector based, that it works with everything and that Mozilla likes it. Oh and it makes use of hardware acceleration. Still, I say if you can do it better and faster, do so.
