Yes, it is not even beta (alpha at current release) and missing a few things. I would only use ReactOS for something I would otherwise need Windows for if I can make it work for that purpose. It is not a replacement for Linux, nor is it a general replacement for MS Windows. It is a limited replacement for Windows that does not require a MS license.
If you read the objectives, it does not mention 100% compatibility with MS windows (any version). It mentions driver compatibility, and ability to run most applications. As alpha, it is not near to reaching that goal, but it is getting close enough to make it very useful.
If you have no use case for which you require Windows drivers and applications (such as legacy software written for NT4 or Win2K ) then there is little reason to play with ReactOS. Those who find it most useful, are those with a use case. Anyone else is likley to be left shaking thier head and wondering 'why?'!

Correct. My needs are simple and shallow compared to most computer users. So my comment was in no way trying to be disrespectful. Though my country boy sense of humor may come across like that , as I well know and regret sometimes.
Here is hoping the Alpha stage finally hits beta. I love choice when I was single and walking into a bar to have some fun when I was single. I still love choice.
Maybe their team will all of a sudden become the hip thing to join, and help code on.
That is how main stream works. "That's cool! So I want it!" One can only hope.
Distribution: Mainly Devuan, antiX, & Void, with Tiny Core, Fatdog, & BSD thrown in.

Its first aim was NT compatibility, but it never seemed to progress to a suitably usable state.
The same goes for Haiku, which is trying to be 2 different things, BeOS & a modern O/S, (go figure).
