Everyone here has done such an awesome job answering my linux questions that, even though this doesn't quite pertain to linux, it's absolutely stumping me and I couldn't think of a better place to bounce ideas around. With that said, here's my issue.

I'm trying to set up a wireless network for a small company. There are two rooms with 5 computers each - one room upstairs, one room downstairs. The downstairs room has a Linksys WGC200 Wireless Cable Modem Gateway and receives the internet connection. It is directly connected wirelessly to the five downstairs computers.

Upstairs, there is a Netgear wireless 4-port switch router (don't ask me why they chose to get a Netgear router when the gateway is Linksys...). The five upstairs computers are intended to directly connect wirelessly to the Netgear router, exactly how the five downstairs computers directly connect wirelessly to the cable modem.

The issue, then, is connecting the two networks and getting the internet itself upstairs. Since the upstairs network will have to go through the cable modem downstairs, I acknowledge that the upstairs network will be daisy-chained to the cable modem via the Netgear router. However, I don't know how to bridge that gap wirelessly! Will purchasing two Linksys Wireless Access Points solve the problem, having them act as wireless bridges? E.g. one would connect to the cable modem, the other to the Netgear router...would that do the trick and bring the internet upstairs?

I am stumped, completely. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

I think you will have to purchase a wireless bridge or use one of the computers as a gateway. Linksys makes a wireless bridge, I think they call it a wireless range extender. This allows two access points to connect through it. You might also have to place the upstairs and downstairs on seperate networks. I can not remember exactly how i had it set up here.
