Windows XP login screen customizations

I know this is a Linux forum so please don't kill me for asking this!! One of my computers is running Windows and I wanted to find out if there's a way for me to customize the login prompt. I want to have a cool background or something for the login screen much like in KDE's login. I believe there's a way to do it but I don't remember how to do it. If anyone knows, could you let me in on the secret? Thanks!

RE:

ah man you dont have to apologize for asking Windows related questions - only when you bash Linux and praise Windows should you expect some upset forum members.

anyway you might find your answer here:
Replacing Startup LOGO

look for replacing startup logo

Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about

I want to keep my login as the classic login but I want to change the nasty default blue background. I was able to do it in previous versions of Windows but I haven't found out how to do it for XP. Does anyone have a clue?

I'm not sure if this is the answer. It mentions using a screensaver logon instead of the default. Changes are made to the registry, so it's not for the faint of heart.

AFAIK, you can only change the welcome screen, which appears on WinXP Home edition or WinXp Professional when you are in a workgroup, not a domain, you can acomplish this using some software from here

joining a domain disables this screen and let you with the classical win2k login dialog

Cheers
