I want to install Win 98 SE on an empty partition.
But I accidentally threw away my install disk.
Is it considered abandonware since it is so old ?
Is it available to download ?
Hi Andy...
To my knowledge, Microsoft has not released either version of Windows 98 to the the public domain, so I highly doubt downloading if from the web would be legal. You would need to purchase a full retail version (not OEM) CD like the one here.

This! Taking anything from untrusted sources is just "asking for problems". Usually hidden crapware inserted in those, not to mention incompability issues. Virtualization is built for it!
