williamwbishop, re your sig

I think the Ovid quote is "small trivial matters had seized the minds" but I'm curious about
your other quote. Is it from the Twelve Caesars? What does it say?

Until he gets here, William Bishop's sig is
Quote:
"Parva leves capiunt animos" (Ovid 32 B.C.)

"Ita feri ut se mori sentiat" (Suetonius)

"I contend we are both atheists, I just believe in one fewer gods than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
(Stephen F Roberts)

"Strike him so that he can feel he is dying."

In other words, stand strong, stand hard....old roman mentality I suppose.

And a closer approximation on ovid's quote would be something like "small matters capture the little mind"
