Why iPhone does not want to go for 5" screen?

We need bigger screen for better Web browsing, GPS etc.

Who knows? Who cares? Ask Apple.

There's already an iOS device with a bigger screen.

I would go for an iPhone with a 5" screen, but only if it came with the 4" battery. I do little with my iPhone 4 and still need to charge it daily. I wish I had my BlackBerry Curve back: it got 3 days on a charge and had a REAL keyboard. (Man, I really miss having a physical keyboard!)

(Company phone, they gave me no choice or I would probably be carrying and 'droid of some kind.)

Look at the entire gamut of handheld devices that are out there. Apple uses exactly the same internal hardware as everybody else does, just locks it down a lot tighter (and declares everything obsolete in two years if not less). When the iPhone was in-effect the only game in town, well, "that was then, but this is now." I use a Kindle Fire for everything I could want a tablet for: my phone has the GPS and the camera so I don't need those things twice. And everything in my collection now runs one thing ... Android.

My wife's still happily running a phone that's about four years old. Still works great, runs Android. I have two newer iPhones (v1 and v2) both of which are now utterly-abandoned boat anchors with zero resale value whatsoever. That's a mistake I won't make again.

iPhone 5 is disappointing,
it is very costly too.

Lumia 920 will be better. Higher Specs.

If they go below 7", then they are competing with smaller phones whereas this is a tablet thus filling a gap for a one hand holdable tablet. Since they have positioned it as a tablet, they wont want to compete with their own iPhone.

At least run GNU/Linux on that thing!

It does run several Linuxes under VMWare. :cool: OS/X is a requirement for other unrelated reasons.

No worries mate, i will admit, on my macbook pro, i can not achieve the same battery life under Linux as i can on OsX; drives me nuts. Oh well.

You seem so cryptic to me Future_computer. Many people have said that you're just Tiger_linux under a different name? you seem consistent with Tiger_linux, and you never denied it. Why change your account?
Why do you constantly ask questions about apple products and then when people reply, you say, something else is better?
What do you want?
When i think of 'trolls' my mind is instantly brought to youtube, where everyone flames everyone else, and the people that don't are just to stoned to get in the right mind set. You seem to adopt an approach that is unique and i'm never sure if you are intentionally trolling or what?
I don't see any constructive post by you and every post thread you start is about something at least slightly controversial, and then you seem to change your point of view half way through, perhaps to try to make others feel comfortable to agree with the 'unpopular' point of view...

Honestly, what do you want? Most people here like Android, and you're obviously sensible enough to know that, no one here cares about Apple enough to think about the logistics behind your question! we all love Linux and Gnu! why why why? I know i'm rambling; but honestly why do you think we would care!?

Future_computer, i think you are trying to appeal to the wrong audience. You have claimed that you've moved to Windows 8. I am actually one of the few admirers of the interface here. I looked through your first few pages of post and didn't see any constructive help added to any other persons conversations. You seem to only want to talk about either apple or microsoft related topics; what are you doing here? (that's not a rhetorical question)

I don't want to get in trouble for derailing a thread that was never on the rails anyway but I will just say he is Tiger Linux. He leaves clues and that is how I know who he is.

I don't know why people upgrade so urgently each time a new iphone comes out. BTW, I heard that apple is making ipad mini. I don't know the specs nor features though.

Personally I prefer android.
