I have a couple dual proc dual core Opteron machines with 16GB each. Does that count?

Is there a point to this thread, or did you think you were bragging?

Bragging with poor typing skills.

I've got a dual AMD64 3500+ with 16 gigs of RAM and a dual XEONs 3.4 ghz with 2 gigs of RAM. But they don't have monitors, so I guess I lose.

Heh, I thought I had a pretty mad machine when I started using linux but since the linux userbase is generally more geeky that the Windows users, they have equally leeter hardware and I fell very nicely into the "average" group

We live and learn, but I could type then so that's a plus.

I got a 166MHz with 32MB ram. Runs linux just fine. Good luck putting XP on that.

PS. make sure mommy buys you the 4TB of RAM necessary for Longhorn.

actuallly ... to think about it , having 2 gig of ram at an early age is not that bad at all ... who knows ... maybe they could think of a way to "convert" ram into harddisks storage , the future belongs to the "15 years old" ... but we may have problem having computers drilling down with wall-plugs ...^_^

note : ok ... enough of the our very own "old men's random shit" , now go make some more coffee

Nah can't do it, as soon as it looses power it's gone. RAM that did save between shutdowns would mean no loading times or at least very minimal ones which would be cool Or you could just use *nix and not have to worry about shutting down at all heh

I have a IBM x460 (16 way) with SAS. It only has 64 GB of ram though. Just 2 weeks old.

My PC is a 3700 OC'ed to 2.4 with 2 GB of OCZ ram.

pentium 100 with 48 megs works mostly just fine thank you. the only two problems with it is that it refuses to recognize any other hard drive I try to put in it and it doesn't have any USB ports. Brag when you get the Amulet of Yendor on a i386. Having those parts means you have the money to afford them (depending on how much time it took to save up for it, of course). Being able to use less capable parts in a highly productive way takes m4d sk1llz. sorry, just *had* to use l33t.
