What web browsers everyone using?

i have always liked firefox in the windows world and was happy when i found out that it came standard with slack. however it is the older 1.0 version and it seems pretty slow. scrolling on websites with lots of pictures seems to chug along and plus the browser itself has a slow load time. i might update it to another version to see if it helps, right now i am using version 3alpha on my windows box and it is very nice and almost bug free.

what all is everyone else using?

I cant detect any speed discrepency. I'm running 1.5.0.7 on Windows, and 1.0.6 on Slack. Some sites dont like the older version, I've just held off upgrading with Slack 11.0 so close.

I rather like Firefox. I use it for web stuff. I use Konqueror for file stuff. Firefox is especially awesome for the extensions.

What is the appeal to Opera? I think I might try it before 11 comes out but I'm happy with Firefox.

I use opera for web and konqueror for files. I loved Opera for windoze and I was happy to see it on Linux. I was never that fond of firefox and IE just sucks. Konqueror is cool, but it lacks a few things that opera has.

Firefox (1.5.0.6) here in Slackware. It is just like the old netscape navigator to dominate in the prime time of Internet in the mid-90s.

I have used Firefox since 0.8, but just yesterday I installed a variant called Swiftfox.

Swiftfox builds are based on Firefox, but are optimized based on processor architecture. All of my extensions and themes work as normal with it, and it seems as stable as Firefox so far.

I noticed SwiftFox before and I never bothered with it because (at least I thought) that you could just compile the firefox source code with the optimizations yourself. No need to reinvent the wheel... I figured it was just for prepackaged binaries.

I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.7. It doesn't seem to like Gmail very much :/.

I have no problems with firefox/gmail at all. I build from source tho. Not sure if that would make any diff.

Firefox is my vote. Been using it since the early firebird/pheonix days.
