What type of slashdot character are you?

I have to admit I'm a modest geek, in my opinion at least. I visit slashdot once or twice a day, sometimes taking time to observe the comments that some /.'ers make to response to some of the articles posted... Hence, I have came down to a map of different classes of /.'ians.

Slashdot Site

Wandering Traveller
You seldomnly post comments, visiting the slashdot site every once in a while to check up on the latest geek news.

Commoner
A majority of slashdot people may fallunder this category, registered with an account commoner's sometimes decide to post there opinions to various subjects, but rarely attracting much attention.

Troll
Trolls are often known to plant flaimbait for the geeks, this may include something like
"KDE SUCKS" < A simple troll, no backing up, just a plain opinion that pisses people off.
Or a larger posting, possibly a page or 2 long stating why something sucks, but lets say, if this was a KDE topic for example, the person would start giving all these reasons why KDE sucks, despite the fact the news article was about a new KDE release (which he by the way hasn't tested yet)

Off Topic
Off topic people often are the people who respond to news articles saying "First post!" or some other nonsense having nothing to do with anything, instead of starting wars, these are usually ignored.

Clowns
You may often find clowns posting comments with a 3+ score that says "Funny" next to them, often when you read these funny comments, you may laugh. ;-)

Intellectuals
This sort of person comes in all shapes and sizes to slashdot, often posting very large "Informative" speeches about a particular subject, which may often be quoted and replied to in very large numbers if the persons possesses a good point.

Canadian
I had a bit of difficulty finding name for this type of slashdotter, but if any of you ever heard the "eh" statement, some slashdotters can post fairly "interesting" replies to both informative comments and main articles, often canadians are popular for creating an interesting debate from a creative perspective.

In my opinion, since most of the posts I create are complete BS, either because I don't make sense, or are horny-sounding, or boring, i would probably call myself a troll who tries to be a clown but nobody finds him funny, what are you?

Couldn't vote. I have gone to /. about 5 times in the last 2 years. I guess you could call me a "Who Cares" type of person.

Perhaps "wandering" would best fit your description?

i read the articles.. and sometimes peoples comment.. but i will never post there... the level of intelligence is generally below the 0 mark... i get tired of hearing "use gentoo" or "if i had source code available i would use it"

either way i like the information put up there, usually some good stories.

I have it set as my homepage and about 1/3-1/4 of the time I read links to provide further information on the article. I don't view comments very often because they are usually not very constructive (though sometimes they are funny). I don't have a slashdot account

I guess I am the pariah type. Every day I see these female-bashing messages and it turns my stomach. Nothing wrong with freedom of speech but I've had enough of it.

Post Missing Option!

Banished.

(Actually, a limit of 2 daily posts per day will make you feel that way.)

Still not sure why.

If I *REALLY* cared to get my opinion heard, I just re-reg.

Kyle
