What to download today?

Hey all,

What to download today? That's the question I pose to you?

I want to download something good....like a distro....maybe.

I have RH7.0, RH7.1, RH7.3, RH8, RH9, SuSE 8.2, Debian, Slackware, Lycoris, and Peanut...

Hmm...

What to do with my T1 today :)

neo77777 06-13-2003 09:39 AM

Well, if you got a T1 line don't be a scumbag (in a good sence of the word :) - don't take it personal) and share what you got. http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/download.html, well that's at least what I'd do if I had bandwidth to spare :).

Whitehat 06-13-2003 02:38 PM

Decided to download Mandrake 9.1 since I don't have it :)

Proud 06-13-2003 02:47 PM

Excellent choice :)

Maybe try Slackware or Gentoo ;)

Whitehat 06-13-2003 03:21 PM

Got Slackware and Gentoo :) ....and I've installed them both a couple times :)......well Slack more than Gentoo ;)

titanium_geek 06-13-2003 03:32 PM

what is peanut?

Whitehat 06-13-2003 06:00 PM

titanium_geek,

It's a super small install of linux that is pretty dang good.

http://www.ibiblio.org/peanut/ <------look here :)

I used to use it on old boxes that didn't support much and didn't have a lot of RAM or HD space :)

Try a version of Debian GNU/HURD, a "complete" (almost) OS that combines DEBIAN with the famous GNU/HURD.
This is still in beta, but hey, still good to see what they're up to:

Download Fluxbox 0.9.3! :D
Sooo much most stable than 0.9.2 :cool:

Thymox 06-15-2003 06:48 PM

Perhaps you could give something else a try? Darwin for x86? Debian hurd?

<edit>
D'oh! Just noticed the previous mention of hurd. Hey ho. QNX perhaps? xBSD? There are any number of choices.
</edit>

moeminhtun 06-15-2003 08:27 PM

Try Solaris Intel Edition.

:)

Whitehat 06-15-2003 09:05 PM

Just downloaded Solaris 9 for intel (3 CD's).

Need to try it though :)

If we all could be so lucky.....

Have you tried any of the zero-footprint Distros, like Knoppix? The only other distro I can think of that hasn't been mentioned is College Linux (I think that's what it is called).
