What most often happens when you post at LQ?

Poll will be attached.

I usually figure out the answer myself. If it is answered in a meaningful way, it usually happens within 24 hrs. If it isn't, then it is unlikely to ever be answered.

There is no option for my answer: "It depends"

If I ask a reasonable question, I generally get a reasonable answer.

If I make some smart-aleck comment, the response could be just about anything.

If I post a poll that does not make sense, it typically gets ignored.

I tend not to ask questions unless they are very hard. So I know it is a long shot that I might get a useful answer. I tend to get bad answers from people who didn't really understand the question. It still seems like a better idea to ask the hard questions than just to wonder.

I have also asked some stupider questions (meaning I should have figured it out myself before asking) and gotten helpful answers.

It has happened to me many times that I manage to solve the problem when I start to write the question and all the necessary information. In these cases I don't even have to press the "Submit" button. It seems the process of formulating the question helps you think and find a solution.

Dang, there should've been an "All of the above" category. Actually all but #2 would be the most accurate...

I haven't had to ask a question this year, and last year I answered myself a couple of times. There is one option left out: some kind soul has just tried to answer a question I asked 2 years ago! Mind you, I've done that myself once or twice.

In my time here I have started 10 threads that ask for help with particular technical matters. I've had 1 go unanswered, a few with a couple of responses, and some with ongoing assistance that was way beyond what I expected and which I am extremely greatful for. I can't actually put all my eggs in any one Poll choice so I wont try unless it is mutiple choice.

Sometimes no-one knows the answer and it stays unanswered..
