What is the smallest PC in the world?

Hello,

Instead of the PDA, would be looking for something small, that can be in ruckbag or even better in pocket?

Sony offers quite small pc.

gumstix are among the smallest, but someone makes one which fits into a thing about half the size of your thumb. It connects to a computer using an ethernet cable and the hole for the cable is bigger than the rest of the device.

It really depends on how you define PC, are you talking keyboard/display or just a processor/memory/storage/connectivity.

if by pc you mean personal computer then i think mini-itx is about as small as you can get (mac-mini, msi wind)

also look out for mobile-itx (maybe the embedded forum will give you more insites).

I just saw an ad for the Nokia N900. While this is a smartphone, doesn't it fall into the smallest pc category? It has enough memory and storage to do what a pc does, it has a Linux operating system, and it doesn't have to be online to work. Just Asking.

I have a Nokia N810 which is not a smartphone, it is a small ARM based computer that runs Linux, the N900 is just a fancy phone that probably isn't that good at making calls.

@elliott678
I can't disagree with you, since I have not seen the phone, just read about it. But, I saw some chat in a German IRC chatroom where someone who actually owns one was ecstatic that he got one. Unfortunately is was in a log so I couldn't ask him about it.
Oh well, still want to look at it when and if it comes to the states. Funny thing, I think they have to downgrade it to make it work with US 3g networks.
