Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

View Poll Results: What is the most cool mascot in FreeSoftware, OpenSource, *BSD community???
This poll reminds me of something funny , I encountered a couple o'months ago:
When I was looking for some good pictures of a platypus , I stumbled about some seriously outdated pages that dealt with the candidates for the Linux-mascot.
Among the different candidates , there was indeed a platypus and from what I could gather it's been a close call between that one and Tux.
What really struck me , though ,is the following: Ever since I mess around with Linux , I had this idea of one day creating my own "Über-Distro"(A man has to have some dreams , right?) and use the Platypus as its Logo.
That was before I found those pages.
Found out , I wasn't the first one with that idea....
