What is remote? This for TV? I don't watch a TV so have no need to call it.

I call it
"infrared control device for manipulating the necessary frequencies in the megahertz bandwidth for the purpose of watching the picture and listening to the sound from a particular station and also for adjusting various parameters that can be controlled such as intensity of sound level, sharpness of picture, contrast, brightness and so on."
