What’s this about a lawsuit regarding copyrights

I’m not sure on the exact details (that’s why I’m posting here)

Ok I’ve been getting sketchy info about a company who owns the right to Unix, suing companies like IBM who use Linux, over copyright infringement that has (or perhaps has not been) taken place because of the similarities between Unix and Linux.

What this all about, is it no more Linux

Do a search on SCO and that should give you all the information I believe you are looking for. And I doubt that this is the end of linux since there is some doubt to SCOs claims against Linux.

I think this is one of the better background papers.
What courts may decide from what we don't know yet is another matter.
Anyone else have BSD on order?

in an email interview linus said
Quote:
"I care deeply about IP (intellectual property) rights. I've personally got more IP rights than the average bear, and as the owner of the copyright in the collective of the Linux kernel, I shepherd even more. It's what I do, every day. I personally manage more valuable IP rights than SCO has ever held, and I take it damn seriously,"
go linus
