What's the most reliable FREE web hosting for WordPress blogging?

I'm a newbie in the blogging world, but I made up my mind, I want to have my WordPress blog on my already registered .com.ar domain, and I want to be able to add my custom plugins, manage my files, in a nutshell, feel I own it, not like wordpress.com, which is very restrictive.

I have looked on the internet and there are a lot of free services, which is confusing, but later I found out that most of them are resellers of youhosting.com, or sites like that (seem to be not reliable).

The thing is I'd like to hear the opinions from the mouth of WordPress bloggers, or other kind of users of free web hosting.

Which one is better for you?

Thank you very much in advance for sharing your experiences.

if your blog is something serious then you'd be better off paying a few dollars per month for it , and they would give you a free domain (some of them)

Not free, but close to it.

Most hosting services I've seen which offer free service attach strings, such as a line of advertisements along the top, and consider the free service a technique for enticing users to give them a for-pay try.

I understand and agree with you about the freedom of having your own site, as opposed to using a free blogging service, but I doubt you will find a free host with quality service. Bandwidth and servers do cost money.

If you want full control, you could try self-hosting with a dynamic DNS service such as no-ip.com, which gave me good service until I moved to a hosting service, or dyn.com, depending on how hostile your ISP is to self-hosting (my old ISP gave lip-service to being hostile; my current ISP is actively hostile).

Wordpress.com offers free blog hosting. You can't get much more WordPress than that, but it's strictly for blogging.

He wants to run the blog on his own domain. Wordpress.com makes you pay for that.
Most free hosts don't ...

Granted. Sadly, a package that will include both free registration and free hosting is unlikely, at least if one wishes to choose one's own domain name. Alternatives will likely need to be considered.

Thanks, I am just looking up for such a free host which can support perl.
