How is web server a 3 tier architecture?

I have researched it before asking. I couldn't get any answer as how is web server a 3 tier architecture.

If that's the case, you should conclude that a web server is not 3 tier architecture.

My own web searches (including Wikipedia:Multitier Architecture) agree that a web server is not 3 tier architecture.
