Video games
Seriously, how could anyone live without 'em. They're the best part of life; The meat and potatoes of my soul. I'd go crazy if it weren't for psx. So give me all your vg rants, all the bosses you're stuck on, how every new games in a serious sucks, or whatever the hell you want. I'm stuck on Adel in Final Fantasy VIII, if anyone has any tips.

I think you really need to re-think life if Games are the best part of life.
Go do something.

I haven't played FFVIII yet. But the boss you're talking about couldn't possibly be tougher to beat than Emerald Weapon from FFVII .

Games the best thing in life heim Been there... you definitely need to find something else to do .
Anyway, www.gamesfaq.com has a hundred of walkthroughs for games, you might find the repetitive Final Fantasy VIII (the history of those games are all similar, you start playing as a though guy, or a mercenary, who does not care about shit, but eventually become a hero, the battle system is old and the musics are the same since FFI.... to name a few) as well in there...

You kidding me? Final Fantasy VIII is the best. Seriously. And yes, I have played most of them. Not directly at you, but I seriously am sick of these diehard ff6 freaks. They're too stupid and hooked on playing "classic rpgs" that they're blind to the greatness of final fantasy viii. Final fantasy viii stands out in terms of gameplay, characters, storyline, and music. I mean it's much better than ff7: Hey look, I'm Cloud. The Designers at Square thought it would be kewl to make me as a potato. Anyway, I'm still mourning over the death of Aeris who nobody really cares about until she dies. Look it's Sepiroth!11!1!. He's going to blow up the world with a meteor1!1!1 Let's go get him! Bam you're dead! The End *99 magazines award ff7 as "da best game eva."*
Seriously, that's what I take of final fantasy 7.
By the way, how is the battle system old? I've yet to see an earlier game with the junction and guardian system. It puts back the strategy in RPGS. The only strategy to beating ff1-7 is: OMG! let's spend the whole game fighting lvl 2 enemies till I reach lvl 100!

How's that any different from sitting around and formulating GREP expressions?
Maybe you should rethink YOUR life, as I'm sure it's dangerous to your health to not play videogames.

Final Fantasy is... a fanboy thing. The musics are repetitive, the battle system is annoying (walk five steps, fight an invisible enemy). The songs are just remakes from all FF series, nothing new. The only thing improved along the years are the graphics... Final Fantasy VII had nice graphics when it was out and everybody thought so... Then came VIII and everybody said wow, FFVII graphics stinks. A PS fanboy is hard to argue with. When PS2 came out, everybody bought because MGS graphics were so cool. Today, Xbox kicks PS2 arses with it's graphics, and PS2 fanboys says: "I didn't buy it because of graphics, I bought because the games apeals more to me"...
I do, understand you like Final Fantasy and everything, but you have to agree that it gets much more attention then it truly deserves. Talking about evolution in the game area, Final Fantasy is nothing but a remake of itselfs with improved graphics. I am quite tired of Square doing male characters which looks like females.... Squall (no personal offense to your nickname), Cloud....
I don't know if you are in Europe, but the Euro releases of Square stinks too. FFX had such small FMV screen which looks like 1/4 of a widescreen video :S.
If there's a game from Square that I take my hat's off for would be Chrono Trigger. Nice battle system which does not take you "out" from the game to play a battle with characters totally different from the ones you are playing with, original sound track, great story, no crappy full motion videos with again, totally different characters that you play in game or fight the dated battle system...
Don't take me the wrong way, I own and finished FFVII (hated when Sephiroth killed Aeris and pretty lame losing her, since she was the second strongest in my team after Cloud), I have FFVIII and I played it a little bit, I thought that Cloud and Squall were way to similar in personality which made it boring right out the box. Regards to the sexy Quistis Trepe though. Seifer, no comments, he plays the bad boy, but at the end he is in love with Squall.... FFIX I have as well, played for 5 minutes. In fact, right after the first battle, which was identical to all Final Fantasies...
I just did not sell those games because, in few years, they will be worthy of good money. As Castlevania SOTN is worthy today (which I also have, but that one dies with me... what great game).
As you see, I have the games, I've played them all, and I'm analyzing it as a non-fanboy. They are ok, dated, but definitely not as good as peoples consider it to be. But them again, I hate Half-Life, and it looks like it's only me on that one too. Half-Life is in my opinion, the worst shooter ever. Inaccurate weapons (the machine gun is so lame, the pistol is more useful), ugly models, crappy story... poor textures, buggy engine. Ok ambient, but no match for Quake I. I only have that one because of Counter-Strike mod, which I also don't like so much anymore .

Just wait until you're a little older. Then, video games will be the least of your cares.
