USDA nutrient database: no Linux download

This is the kind of thing that bothers me. It seems the
USDA discriminates against us:

http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/srch/search.htm

No Linux download!.

I asked if they could provide raw text files. I can write my own
search functiions.

If you wish to complain or make a request, etc... the e-mail
address is:

ndlapps@rbhnrc.usda.gov

Have you tried running it in wine? Most sites just don't go through the work of making things linux friendly because linux on the home desktop is only 2% of the people. And most linux user food comes from here and wouldn't be listed

I'm not surprised - these are the same people that came up with the food pyramid.

What a politicized load of crap that is.

Im sure the USDA is plotting against Linux users, They probably know what hangar alien ships are being stored in at area 51.

I run into that all the time on the web but theres usually at least a pdf.

I found one--SR13, though, a few versions old.

It's in *xc*l format, easy to read in OpenOffice.

Thank you, Dr. Harris!

Have you tried the following:
http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcom.../sr16-1dl.html

It lists the full and abbreviated DB in ASCII format.
