could any body that the D-Link external USB modem
will be installed and work fine with RH8 or MDK9 or not...???
If it is no....what is the suggested modem that will be work fine with this distributions..???
Its been my experience that most external modems work fine with most versions of linux......but most of the ones ive tried use serial ports.........BEST DATA makes some pretty good serial port modems that work fine with linux........I cant tell you about the USB support but most USB modems are accually WINMODEMS........wich only work with windoze....
USB external modems that comply with the specifications work, see here for setup info. Unfortunatly, as deepsix has already posted most external usb modems are winmodems wrapped in plastic.
