upgrading a very old computer

Basically I wanted to use the very old (but cool) case (with the hole back for a serial keyboard and the toggle? power switch in front) but all new equipment inside. I already have a problem because the newer motherboards that can fit (minis) don't match up the connectors in back. Does anyone have any experience with this or should I not waste my time?

old case

If you enjoy hacking hardware as much as some people enjoy hacking software -go for it, just remember to be realistic ....These projects are fun but rarely pay off timewise.
