Hi,
I connect to the internet via a LAN. But I have this queer problem wherein, I can access the net thru Windows explorer, but not thru a web browser. Please advise.
If you can access through Explorer, but not IE (or Firefox, Opera, et al.) Have you tried clearing out your temp internet files, swap, et cetera?
tried re-installing your browser? (I'm fishing here, I haven't touched Windows in over a year...)
A Windows question, yes. I cleared out my Temp internet folders and reset the swap settings. But I'm still stuck. I use a switch to distribute the network flow to my two machines. But how is it that Windows explorer opens the web pages and not IE? I thought they shared the same code. Help :-(
Check your browser's proxy/connection settings. Each browser needs to be configured separately to use the internet if you're using LAN and not a direct connection.
