AOL sucks period.
for years they were the biggest seller of e-mail addresses, now they are trying to be the biggest spam fighter. I had to e-mail an AOL user once and as soon as their system got my address I started getting junk mail. Verified it with a couple different e-mail addresses.
You would think a thousand year old world blanket ISP would have a decent e-mail server quality... putz! and the proprietary crap can be dispensed with too!
Yea AOL just simply sucks. They are trying in some ways to be a better ISP but of course they are funking their efforts up by doing countless dumb stuff. Some dumb stuff new and some old. Either way you cut it they just aren't worth messing with right now (most ISP's aren't).
About the returned mail to someone that never sent the person an e-mail it's been going on all over the net. Just delete them. I didn't look to see what os your're using or if you listed it for that matter but if your're using Windows be careful. There is a new undisclosed vuln. in the Outlook client that allows for remote code execution via buffer overflow without even checking your mail. Yea, I'm serious. Check eEye for info.
P.S. - There was two other undisclosed vulns. in Windows to... Everyone on here does know that MS knew about the ASN.1 vulns. since July 2003 right? It took them 6 months to notify the public. I tend to think within 6 months maybe we'll have patches for these vulns? Maybe sooner since everyone is bitting MS's ass off right now for their actions.
MS likes to poop on their poop with more poop, lol....
