I think it is undue how much coverage these catastrophies receive sometimes. Compared to issues of politics. It is to some degree pointless to cover such incidents. I think the Orlando shooting had two or three headlines on sz.de! But do we want / are we able to busy ourselves with climate, Trump, refugees, numbers of world population, things to come, pit-falls of economics, Erdogan, Russia, Palestine, Ukraine, design of our workplaces, rules of our society, health-care, design of taxes, relationships between peoples and religions?
It's a tough one, can't take away freedom of speech and some news people maybe delusional enough to think it benefits us... I dislike as much of the news as do politics, way more than 1/2.
Some of my neighbors do not understand why I do not hold the same opinions as they do!! It's quite simple; they watch commercial television every day, and night, and I stopped watching it fifteen years ago!! It's less shocking and upsetting getting " old news disasters "!!
I get some tech news but should take in more world news than I do... people often come talk about some horrific news and I can almost detect a sad\shocked sort of excitement as they do? Before I stop them to say metaphorically, you're not helping* but slowing down traffic with that rubberneck*.
