Religion has always been used as a pretext of conquest. The Europeans used it when they began exploring the 'new world.' Muslims also did it, when they took Jerusalem, then Christians retaliated with the crusades, and so on and so on, and so on.

Also lets not forget W, and his claims that he personally 'communed with god', etc, etc.

I'm sure you mean well, but those websites completely sugar-coat the nasty things that your religious texts instruct believers to do.
Even if we for the moment set aside the numerous calls for the conquest of the unbelievers in the koran and the hadith, you still have the specific commandments on how to treat women. Your holy books instruct you to treat women like cattle, as if they were somehow inferior and undeserving of the same human rights that everyone should have.

The way your clerics and "judges" punish women to death by stoning for the "crime" of being raped, while the men usually get off lightly or scot-free is disgusting.

When people try to convince me that islam is some benign religion, I need only look at countries that actually practice it in the form of Sharia Law to know that it is a fascist and oppressive doctrine and has no place in a civilized world.

WRT the "Muslim is best/oh no it isn't" argument raging: stop it now. Any religion is as valid/invalid as any other and all of the 3 major religions have some incredibly distasteful, aggressive, unreasonable punishments for minor and major misdeeds.

No religion can claim the badge of "the religion of peace", they are all equally bad. Feel free to discuss and debate your personal experiences, but let's lose the attacks.

Actually I disagree with you... Buddhism has never been used to agress, mistreat, humiliate or slaughter anybody...

Buddhism is Peace, Balance and Harmony...

... but then again... Buddhism is not a Religion... is a Philosophy, a Way of Life... So Ur right about the religions after all...

Hi Khodeir

I did not disrespect you or Your Religion...

In Japan ppl do not worship cows nor Devils... read a bit more before writing stupid things about a culture that you do not know nor Understand...

Ignorance is a pathetic thing to be displayed in a public forum, but intolerance like

Quote:
and he say now , blah blah blah
plz say st good or go away
is highly outrageous and disrespectful...

Respect others if you expect others to respect you...

This is Buddhism...

This is my way... i did not send you "away" like you did,

and AFAIK i have the FULL RIGHT to post in this forum this is what i did, i a constructive way...

I'm out of here...
