"One is the" awesomest "number that you'll ever do..." my short term goal is to buy a Smart ForTwo car and spray paint a stencil of my own design, Smart ForOne on the back; you can only judge me as one!(. )
That's a pretty good definition of evidence, actually! But don't forget that most of your knowledge is based on other people's experiences. When my doctor tells me that a drug is good for what ails me, I don't demand an explanation of its actual biological effect, which I probably wouldn't understand anyway.
True. Though regarding the large number of religions out there, with quite a few seeming (to me at least) no more correct than the other, I think I would only know if I would find the evidence or have the experience myself.
BTW, I'm just agreeing to disagree here, don't take what I say personally. I may not be religious, but I think people should be allowed to be religious if they so choose. Albeit on the condition that it is not used as a tool of oppression and/or harm.
What happens after we die? I don't know, and I'm not about to fi
Perfect! In all sincerity, Thank You. Even more than explaining (or attempting to by any means imaginable) Religion is about exactly that.... Is there life after death? It also defines the rules of evidence for those of us confident in Logic and Reason. There are 2 important types of evidence, 1st Hand and 2nd Hand and both require validation or an attempt at disproof to have any value. I know I have no first hand evidence of Life After Death and certainly sundialsvcs isn't the only 2nd hand source as there exists no credible evidence of any communication with anyone who has died, not even an "nd out".
Therefore, while moderately interesting or at least entertaining, we will or won't have evidence ONLY after we've died, so Logic demands we live the life we know and deal with what, if anything, comes after only when we get the first "This just in!"
I hate to have to quote Heath Ledger's Joker but "Why so serious?" about nonsense is a valid query.
If you believe in ghosts then you should not be hiding easter stuff, putting presents under trees &c unless you lie to children to gain or cover up.?!‽
