Isaiah, assuming he existed and was the author of that, was addressing the people of his time and place. Not us, not now.
9:1,2 was not referenced here. Nor was the tone mockery. The context constantly discusses the last days, verbatum, so it spans all history, past, present, future (sic).

True, but the entire site is "LinuxQuestions". I don't think many of us would have signed up for "BibleQuotes". Given the OP's behavior in most of the threads like this that have been started, the odds are quite good this will be another "troll" thread.

Ah, I googled Isaiah 1:2, 9, and just read the first result.

2 threads, same basic topic-

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ah-4175467202/

Is multipule threads on the same topic happening becuase you didnt like where thread #1 went? Or is it a cry for attention?

Either way, the 2 threads should be rolled into one IMO.

Agreed...but last time that was done, the OP complained about "censorship".

These are passages about life and death, that which comes first--physical life and death; and second, eternal bliss or terror. We've all "heard." Few will live.

Again, bluegospel, you are posting troll-like threads, and will yell about 'censorship' when the thread is merged. You ignore the social groups where such topics are welcomed, and suffer from the mistaken idea that folks here actually WANT to hear such things.

If you feel you must 'witness', then grab your bible, and head out onto the street...go to a park, and shout at the top of your lungs. I will again speculate that the only reason you keep coming back to this site and posting such things, is that this is one of the only sites where you're allowed to do it, without getting banned.

True, maybe, for believers in one particular set of myths. If you read the Egyptian or Tibetan Books Of The Dead you'll find similar results: behave = bliss after death; be naughty = eternal suffering. Just because you read it in books, doesn't make it true.

Those confident will be humbled, those proud, humiliated, those arrogant made a spectacle.

No, but if God said it, then isn't what I'he said in this post true?

...and we're back to circular reasoning and ignoring historical fact.

To put it differently:
Code:
(bible != god)
also
Code:
(BibleAuthor != god) && (BibleAuthor >1)
Because it's in the bible doesn't mean god said it. If God DID say it, it's certainly true...but since you don't know what God said, and we know the authorship of the book in question is suspect, full of translation errors, and was voted upon/edited for content, things in it are highly doubtful.
