The Direction the Internet is Headed...
Hi all,
I have been on the net now for 20 years and seen a great deal of change in that time; some of it for the better, but rather more, IMV, for the worse. It seems more and more apparent that the net as we used to know it is being squeezed out; the early ethos behind it and its free-thinking, tech-minded proponents are being increasingly marginalized and I for one don't like this progression one bit. This marvelous technology that promised to fully inform the world's people and give everyone, regardless of their background, a seat at the table of the greatest information resource in the known universe has been hijacked by the MEGA CORPORATIONS and is fast becoming an advertisement-infested clone of the mainstream media - and owned and controlled by exactly the same interests. And the free dissemination of uncensored information is not remotely an objective of theirs. Far from it! A few years ago I decided I wanted a divorce from Microsoft and Linux afforded me that escape. I've no regrets. Now I want to go further and get rid of Google, Yahoo, Youtube (all the same thing now) Apple and all the rest of the malodorous big money interests. I'm all through with being a pawn of theirs and yielding up ever more personal information about myself to do stuff that 20 years ago came without strings. And now they want us to store all our stuff in their "cloud" - very convenient I'm sure. I'd prefer to keep my valuables where no one can prevent me from accessing them and thereby hold me to ransom! If anyone knows of an on-line community anywhere on the net where I might meet like-minded individuals who are implacably opposed to the increasingly restrictive forces that are constantly undermining our on-line freedoms in the craven pursuit of MASSIVE PROFITS and infinitely detailed user profiles, then can they please post the relevant links here, not only for my benefit but for untold numbers of others who I suspect, feel the same way I do. Or WILL do pretty soon. Many thanks indeed. |
I'm very sure you are not alone in this sight that you have about what is going on about the freedom of speech on internet, there is a war going on to regulate the internet, and people like you that are seeing what is going on is fighting for this freedom.
There are even more dark forces behind the mega corps, governments, and such that want to reduce the internet to an empty show to the unaware people. Here some links about what is going on in the world, put the pieces together and you'll see the big picture: http://www.iamthewitness.com/DarylBr...ith_Rothschild http://www.theforbiddenknowledge.com...hild_bloodline If you have read the 2 links above when you look at this link http://www.rothschild.com/ you'll understand. Now note that all the regulations been imposed over the internet of course doesn't say it is to stop the free speech but lots of other excuses(lies). Here more links with a lot more info: http://www.anonnews.org/press/item/2097/ http://world-awakening.blogspot.com.br/search/label/NWO http://www.zengardner.com/ http://www.fluoridealert.org/ Sites like this is what the same forces trying to regulate the internet, don't want people to see. To fight for the internet here: http://www.fightforthefuture.org/ I also recommend the following: http://www.securitytube.net/video/6686 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3dj8b8aoCY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljzj_3riQv4 http://www.freedominfonetwork.org/profiles/blog/list http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFdf0...ature=youtu.be Also look the links in my signature. Yes, I know where the internet is headed, as well as where the world is headed. To hell in a hand basket.
I would be aware that they have created a false opposition network that is just as expansive as the mainstream. ukiuki has posted links to it. It is the prisonplanet/infowars network. It is run by the secret services, and its purpose it to gather together such like minded people, feed them lies with a sprinkle of truth, and eventually lead them to their own destruction. I recommend staying away from these places, or at least do your own thinking. They monitor everything and they control everything, there is no way to stop them, they will succeed. You may be able to delay them a bit, but not by getting together with like-minded people, but by taking some action now and then. I'm not talking about protests. They pay off some punks or maybe they just send some secret agents in to throw some molotovs at your protest and then they disappear and the riot police get the go ahead to beat your ass as much as they please. No, instead, try to remain anonymous (not the Anonymous that is led by the secret services), not trust Tor (which is run on gubmint servers), not join Facebook/Twitter or other social spying projects, and not say things that would greatly upset Big Brother/Sauron. You can sign some petitions, distribute Linux in your community, raise awareness of real dangers online and otherwise, etc. These are safer and more effective things to do. |

I really don't think I need to say more than that. |
What about the FSF and EFF, those are good communities to join if you care about your freedoms.

Yeah, like everyone else I've seen all the conspiracy stuff, but that's straying off the point somewhat. My beef is simply that the net is becoming just another orifice for the mainstream media to spray its sewage. It's becoming trashy and worthless as a result. I'm sick of seeing all this junk about that wretched Kardashian woman and her obnoxious family and all the other 'celebrity' orientated garbage that wasters who read the National Enquirer and such like enjoy. Don't want any of that every time I want to check for e-mail. Don't want any adverts. Don't want any movies. Don't want any pictures at all, actually. Just tech info on any subject and informed discussion like it used to be back in the day. Oh - and don't mind paying for it. If the price of having a 'free internet' involves plastering it with mind-rotting trash about the NFL, Justin Bieber and Hollywood gossip then I want out of it. I want my monthly sub to go to a small, independent community of tech people providing a valuable, worthwhile and crap-free service. If, on the other hand, I really want to destroy my mind with 'junk food for the soul' I can simply turn on my TV or read any newspaper. What's happening to the concept of choice??

Can't imagine Julian Assange being couped up in that tiny 'embassy' in London for over a year IF Anonymous IS actually run by the SS. Doesn't make sense. Also Tor, as I understand it uses a chain of nodes which by virtue of the concept of onion routing make it impossible for any compromised node in that chain, even though passing the packets, to know the ultimate source and/or destination of them. I have no need of such methods myself; never used the network, but the tech concept intrigued me enough to look into how it works and I thought I had it right, but from what you say perhaps I don't. Care to clarify? Has a vulnerability been discovered? |
Explain this for one:
http://news.slashdot.org/story/13/03...akes-statement Also note that Tor does NOT provide end-to-end encryption, and is also vulnerable to end-to-end timing attacks. Also note the case of Anonymous rigging Torbutton with Mozilla's permission to log all IPs of visitors to certain wiki on Tor. I believe it is all set up. Look up articles about how many of the nodes are run by the govn't. Many are because they say they use it for some of their own communications. Assange is quite safe, as he is with them. The entire wikileaks system appeared quickly and mysteriously, by one man. No real precautions were taken to safeguard the anonymity of the whistleblowers. No really useful information was leaked. And the most important part, it was on TV. If it's on TV and they even make a documentary on it, it is very suspicious. These are just things you have to pick up on and research yourself. I'm not here to convince anyone of any conspiracy theory, I would never do that. I'm here to lift the cover a little bit, so that those that are interested will dig for themselves. Just know that once you start digging, you can't stop, and you don't know how deep the rabbit hole goes. So, what exactly are you looking for ? I don't think you'll find many free-thinking people out there, and if you do find them, they will likely NOT be in a group. I'm free-thinking and I don't like to aggregate. If you find a good place tell me too, because I don't know of one. I recommend searching the net for something specific, something that you know and most others don't. |

This is a very thin line to walk over I know, the only one here that I can't agree as much is myself because I know, just because someone said something that doesn't make it the truth(must be investigated). Yet if you find something to be the truth, "Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth." Mahatma Gandhi

"What is real? How do you define real? What about the realities of people that live in somewhat confortable life, and of course the internet as stated by Completely Clueless. I'm sure there are plenty of realities being hacked around the world, in one way or another, yes you are right unSpawn, there is people with interest in hacking reality. I just hope there is enough people working to unhack the unreal realities that is being pushed over peoples mind. Completely Clueless,
H_TeXMeX_H, the others, Twenty years ago Internet was used by a handful of the people. Now it’s used by the billions. Do you see the difference? That handful of the people published good content and wasn’t the target for the advertising company etc. Billions of the people are the target and read/watch/listen and publish a lot of shit. It seems to me that you guys (and gals) visit the wrong websites. Don’t do that. Don’t read/watch/listen the shit. If you can’t find the right content at all start your own website or blog. It’s simple. *** It seems to me also that some of you are obsessed by different conspiracy theories and horrified by the vision of the omnipotent secret services. Let me tell you something... I was born in the communist country long after Joseph Stalin and stalinism died. Before I grew up communism in my country lost most of his teeth (though our gap-toothed government managed to introduce a Martial Law for a few years). I was arrested and interrogated by the communist secret services for a few times. According to our law I was kept in the arrest up to 48 hours but I never was imprisoned or interned. My outlook was “anarchist” though I never was a member of any anarchist organization. (The term “anarchist organization” amuses me – it’s oxymoron.) I never was a member of any organization. I had my own outlook different than the outlook subscribed by the most of the people in my country. I didn’t hide it from the other people including my interrogators. They disregarded me because my outlook was so marginal. So they nor imprisoned me, nor proposed me the collaboration (using a blackmail or offering a charge). Since 1990 I live in the democratic country. In the meantime my outlook evolved towards more and more marginal one. I’m pretty sure that I’m the only one in my country presenting such an outlook. Maybe I’m the only on the Earth. One way or the other I’m not the target nor for the secret services, nor for the advertisement companies, nor for anyone else. I have a good laugh when some pollers ask me the question. For two reasons: 1) I can only spoil their statistics with my answers; 2) they very often ask the question that means something else than that what they think it means but I reply to such a question according to the logic rather than according to their intentions. A week ago I read about some poll. The biggest Polish Centre for Public Opinion Research asked the wrong question (the only valid answer to it was “yes” because it wasn’t the question about the facts but about the logic though it resembled the question about the facts). The respondents replied to it “yes” or “no”. The interesting thing is that educated people replied “no” (despite the only valid answer to it was “yes”). On the other hand the uneducated people answered “yes” – not because they’re so smart but because they share some idiotic conspiracy theory. The journalist of the most influential Polish newspaper reported the results of that poll seriously instead of criticize the question and the answers. To recapitulate: the Centre for Public Opinion Research can’t ask the questions, the educated people can’t reply the questions, and the notable journal disregards that absurd. As you see I’m very lonely with my thinking in my country. So my advice to you is: try to find the facts instead of the interpretations. Interpret the facts yourself. Develop your thinking. Build your outlook. The more unique became your outlook the less you’ll be the target for the secret services and the advertising companies. Unless you live in China, North Korea, Iran, etc. don’t be afraid to propagate your outlook to the other people (including possible secret services and advertising companies). They do nothing to you. They simply start to ignore you. And throw away all conspiracy theories. I can’t resemble any reasonable conspiracy theory though I listened and read about many of them. |

Yes there is many conspiracy theories but only very few true conspiracies, which are very hard to see and may take several years until people start realize what happened. The theory ones are made to distract people from the real ones. When the real ones come to light, yes they will ignore you, because nobody will believe you, the stage is already set(propaganda), Then you get ridiculed, they laugh at you... well it isn't hard to figure out the rest. The fact that someone or all the people laugh at you not necessary means that you’re right.

You ask where the internet is headed? Firstly, consider that we are connected by and intricately linked to the Internet. It is a very popular method of communication and expression. Whatever occurs in the realm of the Internet shall, therefore affect us. These large companies, they steal our personal information, while we mindlessly enjoy the pretty pictures that the Internet offers us. We are being used.
