The Climax of Humanity
The Climax of Humanity
Demographically and economically, our era is unique in human history. Depending on how we manage the next few decades, we could usher in environmental sustainability--or collapse By George Musser http://wittylink.com/37675 |
Perhaps we need to keep the envrionment, oil and other similiar threads all in one place. All of these recent threads you've started are all pretty much leading to one big discussion about oil, environment, vegetarism, etc.

When everything is depleted we'll live like monkey's :D

Well, rvijay, with that said, is there anything that you plan to do (or would like others to do) to help preserve our way of life? Or are you looking forward to changes?

I too am trying to live a simple existence, however I still require my car as I live about 20 miles away from where I work (with no reliable public transportation), but I carpool with my roomate when possible. Quote:

If you have to use car for work, then that is OK. Meditation is very good also. Also, congestion/pollution etc., are grounds for trouble. Refere to the link below on Avian Flu and the WHO warning: http://www.sundayherald.com/51496 Vijay |
Yeah, I know about the pollution and congestion problems, which is why I dislike having to use (and pay) for my car so much.

Every place and every thing on every time on planet Earth is unique.
One thing that puzzles me is the "coincidence" of a sun and a moon with almost the same diameter. We have invented gods and goddesses because of this fact. That, and the mere existence of life gets me wondering that there may be gods that are laughing at us because of the names we have put to them and everything and our theories too. We all come from one source since the big bang and perhaps will be someday in the same state and will start again, who knows? The problem now is that we need to reverse the ecological damage we have made on Earth. Sometimes I think that the modern way of life makes us miss experiences that fill the entire human spectrum and sometimes I wish I'd live on another age |
what could be or had been named , were not Named
what could be or had been analyzed , were not Analyzed the Climax ? go kite flying on the tallest cliff or go wondering why rivers never stop flowing even if people thought that they had found the Source and the End you will never fall in love with anything anymore thats the way ... [/EndTranscendentalism] keep on flowing no matter what ... |
I agree with primo. Even with all of the advances in technology today, I long for a simpler time. I think that many of us have forgotten how to truly live life and have been caught up in societal demands. I feel that we are slowly losing our humanity.

not sure its for the good or the bad or a mixture of both , too early to say , but guess that in a sense , it might be inevitable ...
without clean rooms or vacuum chambers : Nanotech solar cells , Portable Plastic Power we have been using it all the time : The First Nanochips , As scientists and engineers continue to push back the limits of chipmaking technology, they have quietly entered into the nanometer realm nanotech investors : As solar gets smaller, its future gets brighter , Nanotechnology could turn rooftops into a sea of power-generating stations |

Unfortunately, it usually takes a catastrophic event for most of us to come together, and even that is short-lived. |
