The biggest critiques of Linux are... ...Linux Users?

a buddy of mine mentioned that after a particular magazine report he read, that M$ Windows cannot fix serious security flaws which will spell the end of Windows as we know it but the biggest critiques against Linux are Linux Users.

apparently, the Linux community itself might be biggest hurdle Linux has to cross in order to become more widespread by end users, does this make any sense or is it just propaganda?

ps.
all i know is that it's a recent report, don't know the magazine name and that Micro$oft is basically carbon copying Linux in their Longhorn product....

Sounds more like a troll. He was trying to get you going. Don't humor him. Don't say mean things about another OS ubless you can back it up with facts, and promote Linux in a good light on its merits, without comparisons to others' weaknesses. Its counterproductive. Sell Linux on its merits and forget there IS another OS in your sentance. It'll fly better and the Linux community will be done a favor. Who cares about the other guy anyways? We got it now and we are happy (more usage will lead to faster acceptance from hardware manufacturers, though)
