This was further convoluted by King James having his priests rework the "holy"papers into the more accepted King James bible we use today We will never know what the real words were in the scrolls as they are probably lost to the world. Surely they all did not wind up in the Vatican !!! The biggest religious joke going!Written by a bunch of wine drinking sots that were afraid that if the king didn't like what they wrote they would get butchered.But I must confess I really don't take this stuff too seriously...maybe my wife does but I need proof.And I'm not even from the show me state!!!!!!!!!

There are more translations of the Bible then the King James Version (KJV). The KJV is hardly the standard anymore. I like the New International Version (NIV) and the New Living Translation (NLT). Both the NLT and the NIV were derived from the original sources.

The original texts are with us today. Literal, word-by-word native language copies exist as well.

NO written text from that time still exist (same thing with the old greeks).
Your "original texts" are at least 1000 years younger, using a different material in a different language.

I believe the Bible to be the ultimate truth. It does not make sence to me if the God who called Himself Almighty was not able to preserve His very own words. Moreover we still have the Talmund to compare the Bible with - atleast the Old Testment. Moreover the Bible itself claims to be immutable - so I either believe it entirely or reject it entirely. I am not a good Christain and I have my share of burdens to carry but then this is what I believe in. No matter what the version of Bible we talk about that has to be true. The early church made sure that the Bible was as whole as it was supposed to be.
Some laws in the Bible do not make sence (atleast to me) and some laws are gender biased (the OT) but then again I am sure there is a purpose and meaning to all this. I do not understand it now but I hope to figure it out someday...

Sorry I have to say that, but your opinion somewhat astonishes me. So he who called himself God the Almighty is able to preserve his words over thousands of years, but is not able to let them sound so, that his believers can understand them? And if the bible is the ultimate trouth for you, wouldn't it be your first duty to learn the old languages, so that you can read the original (which in my believes is only a modified copy of old sumerian writings)? How do you handle the many, and partly contradictory, translations of them as ultimate truth? And sorry when this sounds sarcastic, but if god is as almighty as described in the bible, why can't he make the fact that the earth isn't a disc comprehensible to his believers and has to lie to them?

Well, today was my first time trying Windows 7, and I actually really like it. I haven't really had time to tinker with it THAT much, but just from my 15 or so minutes of messing around, it seemed pretty stable. The new taskbar and what not is actually (IMO) a pretty genius idea and I think I may recreate it for either GNOME or XFCE (haven't decided yet, probably XFCE). It picked up our network instantly and installed all drivers needed for our many peripherals that we have plugged in without any hiccups and only one reboot. I myself will stick to Linux on my laptop, but for our new family computer we have downstairs, I am very pleased with 7.

That was a good one. You mean it ran 15 minutes without crash?
