general.useragent.override string Slackware[/QUOTE
is what gives the circle with question mark. whenever I remove the Slackware the string disappears
thinking about reinstalling firefox and see what happens.
don't know if this has anything to do with it but I'm usng the kernels and mesa from testing
Wouldn't it be simpler to try one of the strings suggested by members that have it actually working instead of re-install the whole browser?
And no, neither the kernel nor your graphics system has anything to do with a simple string in your browsers settings.

It didn't dawn on me that one had to have the whole string, I just assumed that Just adding "Slackware" would work, but I see it doesn't. Thanks for the help.

It's a full user agent override. It replaces the entire user agent string with your specified value.

Glad you got it working though.

Try something like what's suggested in this post, just replace "Slackware" with "PCLinuxOS":

Another test. I was concerned about just coping and editing a useragent string from this post. One can find the default useragent string for the browser build that they are using with "about:support" before creating the useragent.override string.
