And here, a very interesting French article on the Ukraine stuff:

http://www.lemonde.fr/planete/articl...3137_3244.html

If you can't read French:

Citations please. Sounds like the Ukraine has plenty of disease running around.

I did. It makes no mention of their being no disease in the Ukraine. In fact, it reports fairly extensively on there being an outbreak of flu in the Ukraine. In other words, the Ukrainian government is reacting to something real, not imagined. Their reaction may be stupid, but they appear to have an actual problem on their hands.

Of course I'm going off of the translation since I don't read French.

Well, depends on the definition of "Outbreak" ... did you see the movie ? This is no outbreak ... in fact it's probably just regular flu, or a very weak version.

The best resource you can get, is book a flight there and investigate. I doubt anyone will tell you what it really is ... I doubt they even know themselves, I doubt they even report the right numbers, or even the right cause.

So, there you go ... me, I know nothing about this, but if the media says something, I for sure will doubt what they say, and I'll probably be right.

So are you saying that you did exactly that, book a flight and check it out for yourself in order to arrive at the conclusion that it is just the seasonal flu?

Or not. Me, I'm gonna wait and see what the WHO scientists have to say. You know, use facts as opposed to making shit up.

Oh, I forgot, so everyone can be paranoid in real time, here is the CDC report on flu like illnesses. I'm pretty sure that the DC is having so few cases because of the concentration of politicians, and we all know they aren't human so H1N1 can't infect them. Either that or H1N1 is afraid of Obama and keeping well away from DC. Now I'm at a complete loss to explain South Carolina.

Ah yes, but there's a cooler map here:
http://flutracker.rhizalabs.com/flu/....640625&zoom=6

Hard to interpret tho ... if I were a teacher grading this map, I would give it an "F" for Fail.

Unfortunately, I only have the frozen variety. But, there is a 12-pack of Super Bock to go with it if you want.

Just as an update, from these two sources:

http://flutracker.rhizalabs.com/flu/....640625&zoom=6
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_fl...mic_by_country

I'm getting a 0.40 % to 0.42 % chance of death if you happen to get it, and if it happens to actually exist. That's the same as it was all along (I calculated it at around 0.4 % several months ago). And now, everyone is panicking.
