subject not disclosed

Are there any Windoze sites like this one out there? If so, I'd like to see one, because I haven't learned enough about Linux to discard the Windoze training wheels yet. It's not going to happen, anyway, until I get my wireless network running smoothly. [ducking] Please don't hate me for asking a Windoze question. I didn't even type a subject, because I thought everyone would refuse to read it if I did.

I can take a joke, Acid (esp. since you made it obvious), and so am hardly offended; but objectively, that wasn't funny. I was asking a serious question, and mixing seriousness with gratuitous humor produces only bad comedy.

Thank you, Aysiu, that was what I needed.

i think you need to relax mate, Jeremy bought that domain 6 years ago when LQ started, and it's never stopped entertaining members here since.

Actually I think what Chris has used is much closer to sarcasm, a form of humour much appreciated in the UK and here in Australia (just look at Monty Python or any of the many derivatives for example), but - and no offence intended - it does not seem to appeal to the American sense of humour.

Simply a cultural thing.

I have no desire to pit the cultural merits of my country against yours, gentlemen; but, no, I'm not fond of sarcasm. In the form of satire, it's too often hurtful or destructive. I do, however, like silliness. For instance, Acid's signature quotation.

I would use other search engines, because Google is trendy, and I hate trendy things.
