The man is a genius, there's no denying that, but holy @#$! is that him on the cover of that book from the link iceman?

I'd give him a bag of groceries if I saw him walkin down the road.

Again, nothing from his obvious massive cortex, just that looks are amazingly decieving...

Cool

He's got point imho, but I don't want to start another thread on the GNU/linux thing ;)

Damn, all the kernel developers are, well, not quite what I think any of us would picture.

Alan Cox, that dude looks completely wasted in that photo. Goes to show how decieving looks can be.

Cool

macewan 05-29-2003 06:31 AM

look at all the companies that have been smashed by microsoft

look at netscape
look at novell

do you really think gnu would have gotten as far as it has if it were not for the type personality of stallman. what of linux. it's just a kernel. it takes passion and belief in something last.

read hacker ethic. it's a good book.

GtkUser 05-29-2003 07:05 AM

It takes passion, and that means, no more haircuts.

GtkUser 05-29-2003 07:26 AM

I don't know why Microsoft doesn't get a family photo of these hippies and advertise it to the public, "Are you hip enough to use Linux?".

That I would probably drive millions over to Microsoft.
