Stackoverflow Alternative (without Facebook or Google account, i.e. monitoring)

Hello,

Would you eventually know a form of Stackoverflow which is not requiring Facebook or Google ?

Thank you in advance

It looks like you can also sign up for Stackoverflow using Blogger, LiveJournal, AOL (!), Yahoo, or with any email address. I assume the Facebook and Google options are just for convenience/evil conspiracy reasons.

There are alternatives, depending on what you like: IRC, forums, mailing lists.

You can sign up for their service without using Facebook or Google, but I'll admit that I spent less than two weeks participating on their forums. Whereas you can see for yourself how long I've been hanging around LQ!

The trouble with the various "Stacks" is not only that they are completely unfocused ... there is no topology to their forum structure and "anything goes" ... but they freely allow both downvoting and editing(!) of someone else's post. I saw perfectly-fine posts being downvoted less than 30 seconds after they'd been posted, and having received no replies at all. I saw my own posts being rewritten – at first, I didn't know that you could do that – to include "spam." They were no longer what I had to say, but they still had my name on it. So, I walked away, promising that the dust from their city would never again be on my sandals.

And, mind you, I don't hang around LQ today just to hear myself talking about American politics! I hang around here because I get answers that I need. It is a courteous site, without downvoting, that protects what you have written from being modified by anyone other than yourself (moderators excepted). So, I also spend part of my day each day "giving back" as best I can.
