Slashdot - Craigslist to Beam Ads into Space (for Free)

Did anyone else see this story?

Doesn't this seem like a bad idea? Spam is close to being outlawed in many places here on earth. Surely if there are any advanced civilizations out there, they must have banned spam centuries ago. What a great way to introduce ourselves to our intergalactic neighbors...


P.S. Quick! Someone call the Mozilla Foundation and tell them get a Firefox ad into the transmittion! Today, the New York Times, tomorrow, the galaxy...
