Small database program?

I have a large collection of MIDI files, and I find myself looking for some particular file and not knowing where it is.
So I came up with an idea. Is there any kind of small database program on linux which I could use to sort out different midi files using keywords, for example "blues" shows me all files marked as "blues", and so on?

If anyone knows, I'd like to hear about it. I'd write one myself, but I don't know any programming languages.

Base from OpenPffice should be able to handle that. Easier might be importing a delimited text file of all the filenames into a spreadsheet.
